Our Curriculum

Didactics

Our conferences and seminars feature faculty and attendee level lecturers and pharmacutical representatives, encompassing the full spectrum of Family Medicine topics.

Keeping residents up to date on new guidelines and pharmacutical updates and innovations so you can build a foundation for your practice, advance your skills and stay current on important trends.

Teaching Duties

Throughout your rotations as a resident physician you will have the opportunity to teach medical students during pre-rounds and throughout the day. You will supervise them as they conduct patient exams and write progress notes.

Curriculum by Year

Niagara Falls Memorial’s location in the Buffalo-Niagara Medical Corridor gives our Family Medicine residents convenient access to learning opportunities in specialty programs such as transplant medicine, trauma care, cardiac surgery and cancer care at such institutions as John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital, Buffalo General Medical Center, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, Gates Vascular Institute and South Buffalo Mercy Hospital.

Throughout the year residents will be receiving inpatient and outpatient experiences at a varity of health facilities in the Niagara Falls/Buffalo community.

Family Medicine Clinic weekly
Emergency Medicine: 4 weeks
Inpatient Internal Medicine: 3 months Days, 6 weeks Nights
ICU: 4 weeks
Newborn Nursery: 4 weeks
OBGYN: 4 weeks
Outpatient Pediatrics: 4 weeks
General Surgery: 4 weeks
Pediatrics-Outpatient: 4 weeks
Night Call/Research: 2 weeks
Psychiatry: 2 weeks
Orthopaedics: 4 weeks
Elective: 2 weeks
Vacation: 4 weeks total

Cardiology: 4 weeks
Sports Medicine: 4 weeks
Family Medicine Clinic weekly

Pulmonology: 4 weeks
Community Medicine: 4 weeks
Outpatient Pediatrics: 4 weeks
