Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center has applied to the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Family Practice for accreditation as an Osteopathic Family Medicine Residency Program site. Pending AOA accreditation, we will be accepting applications for four first-year osteopathic family medicine residents. We anticipate this program to start in June 2010. Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center has 30 years of experience in training resident physicians in Family Medicine. In fact, Family Medicine is the only residency program Memorial offers and our residents work closely with our attending physicians. Our faculty members are interested in research and have published in the areas of patient safety, residency training and working with underserved populations. At Niagara Falls Memorial, residents have ample opportunities to deal with complex cases. Our Hamilton B. Mizer Family Practice Center has been in existence for three decades and records more than 10,000 patient visits per year. Residents also utilize our mobile clinic to provide care to migrant workers at nearby farms and see patients at the Niagara University Health Clinic and Tuscarora Indian Reservation Health Center. Our resident physicians also assist in providing medical coverage for NCAA Division I athletes at Niagara University. Program Director Program Director Laurie L. Kilbury Taylor, D.O., is a graduate of the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, N.Y., and completed a dual residency program in Emergency Medicine and Family Practice at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. She holds board certifications from both the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians and the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine.
