ER1/Heart Center of Niagara wins Brick by Brick Award

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center's new ER1/The Heart Center of Niagara was named Best Medical Complex at the 2006 Business First Brick by Brick Awards ceremony held Thursday at the Larkin at Exchange Building in Buffalo.

The Brick by Brick Awards honor the most talented architects, engineers, developers and contractors in the Buffalo Niagara region.  This year's awards were sponsored by The Bonadio Group, First Niagara and Frey Electric Construction Co.

Memorial's award-winning emergency department and regional cardiac care center was designed by Carmina & Wood PC and developed and constructed by Savarino Construction Corp.  Engineers for the project were Siracuse Engineers and IBC Engineers.

In making the award, Business First noted the building's design "centered 58,000 square feet on a postage-stamp site with critical connective planning to the existing hospital."
