Memorial granted echocardiography accreditation

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, The Heart Center of Niagara and Memorial’s Summit Healthplex have been granted accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories.

The accreditation places Memorial’s echocardiography laboratories among the first thousand in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico to be so recognized for their commitment to high quality patient care and the provision of quality diagnostic testing for heart disease.

The ICAEL was established with the support of the American Society of Echocardiography, the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Pediatric Echocardiography to provide a peer review process that includes a facility review by an independent agency.

The voluntary accreditation process at Memorial was supervised Jo Ann Stone, RN, RDMS, technical director of the echocardiography labs.
