Falls woman awarded handmade afghan in breast cancer awareness drawing
Darlene Irish of Niagara Falls, center, accepts a handmade pink afghan embedded with ribbons promoting breast cancer awareness from Mammography Technicians Lori Hobbs, left, and Mary Ellen Swanson at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. The afghan was crocheted and donated to the hospital by Lori’s mother, Sheran Culverwell of Newfane. All women who received mammograms at Memorial during October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, were entered into a drawing for the afghan.
