Home > Services > Women's Services Women's ServicesThe Mary C. Dyster Women's Pavilion at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center offers a full range of services for women at all stages of life. Women who are admitted to the pavilion for inpatient care are given private accommodations with their own bathroom, shower and cable TV. Diagnostic ImagingMemorial's Diagnostic Imaging services feature state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Services include standard diagnostic imaging, mammography and ultrasound procedures. MRI, CT Scanning and Bone Densitometry studies are available for the early detection of diseases such as cancer, stroke, heart disease and osteoporosis. No appointment is necessary for mammograms, bone density studies or routine X-rays. Tests and procedures are conducted by certified technologists and overseen by a full-time Board-certified radiologist. For more information, call 716-298-0904. Community Health Worker ProgramThe Community Health Worker Program is a medical center outreach that serves all pregnant women and their family members regardless of their ability to pay. The program is especially helpful for teen-agers and women with limited incomes. Maternal-Fetal MedicineOur ambulatory perinatal center features spacious examination rooms and state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment. The center operates under the direction of the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Its mission is to provide total or consultative care to complex and risk pregnancies. Consultative services are provided by Bruce Rodgers, M.D., a board certified maternal-fetal medicine specialist who is affiliated with the Regional Perinatal Center at the Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo. A full range of services is provided, including perinatal consultation, fetal echocardiography, fetal cardiology, fetal Doppler genetic counseling, second trimester genetic ultrasound, genetic amniocentesis and third trimester amniocentesis. Consultations include, but are not limited to, medical complications of pregnancy and fetal disorders. Comprehensive care of pregnancies complicated by diabetes and gestational diabetes is provided and includes insulin teaching, blood glucose management, nutritional counseling, fetal anomaly screening and fetal echocardiography. Patients with gestational diabetes can receive specialized care at the Diabetes and Endocrinology Center of Niagara, also located in the Mary C. Dyster Pavilion. For patients with more complex perinatal issues, care and management are available through an arrangement with the Perinatal Center of Western New York, allowing for a smooth transition and continuity of care. Labor and Delivery SuitesOur suites offer private homelike, accommodations for labor, delivery and recovery all in one room. Each room has a private shower, rocking chair, sleep chair, bassinet and television with cable access. Rooming-in is available for newborns to enhance family bonding. Other features include advanced monitoring systems for mom and baby and a family lounge with kitchen. All registered nurses on our maternity floor specially trained to care for moms and babies before and after delivery and are certified in neonatal resuscitation procedures. Specialized services are available for high-risk maternity patients. Epidural anesthesia is available 24 hours a day. Newborn NurseryOur nursery is fully equipped to provide care for both well babies and babies who need extra medical attention. Rooming in with Mom is encouraged whenever possible to enhance bonding and to give parents a chance to become comfortable caring for their newborns.
