The American Heart Association recently recognized Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center as a participating hospital in its Get With the Guidelines – Coronary Artery Disease (GWTG-CAD) program.

GWTG–CAD helps ensure continuous quality improvement of heart attack treatment and prevention.  It focuses on care team protocols to ensure that patients are treated and discharged properly.

Kelly Fitzgerald, BS, RN, left, director of cardiopulmonary services at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, and Chief Nursing Officer Joanne Krolewski, BSN, RN, right, accept recognition of Memorial as a Get With the Guidelines – Coronary Artery Disease (GWTG-CAD) program participant from Sheree Murphy, MS, director of quality improvement initiatives for the American Heart Association.
