Home > News Room > Dr. Bala completes prestigious surgical fellowship, joins Memorial Medical Center staff Dr. Bala completes prestigious surgical fellowship, joins Memorial Medical Center staffBala Thatigotla, M.D., M.R.C.S. – a general, gastrointestinal and advanced laparoscopic surgeon – has joined the medical staff at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after completing a fellowship in one of the nation’s top programs – the Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery/Bariatric Surgery program at the prestigious Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tenn.
Dr. Bala, as he prefers to be called, is a graduate of Sri Venketeswara Medical College, South India, and received surgical training at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (teaching hospital of The University of West Indies), Trinidad. After completing advanced training in General Surgery, he received certification from The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. He completed his General Surgical residency at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center/Albert Einstein School of Medicine, New York, and holds board certification in General Surgery from the American Board of Surgery and Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, U.K. In addition to routine general surgery, Dr. Bala is experienced in a number of specialty laparoscopic (minimally invasive) procedures.
