Heart Center of Niagara upgrades patient services

The Heart Center of Niagara has streamlined access to cardiac care with the addition of a new liaison for patients and referring physicians.

Linda Curtis, R.R.T., B.S., has joined the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center team as coordinator for care at The Heart Center.

Linda will work with cardiac patients and their referring physicians to coordinate care with The Heart Center of Niagara's services, staff members and physicians.

She also will work with Memorial's Centralized Scheduling staff to facilitate the prompt scheduling of cardiac-related diagnostic procedures including stress testing, CT angiography, Holter monitoring, EKGs and echocardiograms. Cardiac PET scans will continue to be booked through Dr. Michael Merhige's office.

"A smile and a friendly face are waiting to welcome you to the Heart Center of Niagara," Curtis said. "I am ready to assist in all aspects of care from helping patients establish contact with a cardiologist to working with physician offices to obtain appointments and test results as quickly as possible."

Ms. Curtis, who holds degrees in health science, respiratory therapy and physical education, previously worked at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario, and Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston.

She can be reached by calling The Heart Center of Niagara 278-4300 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
