Memorial Medical Center appoints Ibegbu pharmacy director

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center has appointed Mary-Attracta M. Ibegbu, Pharm.D., director of pharmacy services effective Aug. 31.  Her appointment was announced by President & CEO Joseph A. Ruffolo. 

Ibegbu earned her doctorate in pharmacy at Howard University, Washington, D.C., and holds a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. 

A former staff pharmacist and pharmacy manager at Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital, Rite-Aid Pharmacy and Walgreen’s Pharmacy, she most recently served as director of pharmacy for the Medina Memorial Healthcare System in Orleans County.

Ibegbu is a member of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, New York State Chapter of Health System Pharmacists, Pharmacists Association of Western New York and the American Pharmacists Association.   She is a Getzville resident.

Ruffolo also announced the promotions of two current medical center employees:
 
Alicia Scott has been promoted from registered nurse to nurse practitioner with the medical center’s hospitalist staff.  Scott recently completed her Master of Science in Nursing/Adult Nurse Practitioner degree from Daemen College.  A Niagara Falls resident, she is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.

Charles Walker has been promoted from community health advocate to manager of community outreach.  Walker’s promotion recognizes his tireless efforts during the past several years to link area residents with quality health care services and to bring health and wellness programs to community organizations, block clubs and the faith-based community.  A Niagara Falls resident, he also is a member of the Niagara Falls City Council.
