Kelemen to direct Child Advocacy Center of Niagara

Laura J. Kelemen, LCSW-R, has been appointed executive director of the Child Advocacy Center of Niagara.

An experienced clinical and program director, Kelemen holds a master’s degree in social work and bachelor’s degrees in psychology and chemistry from the University at Buffalo. She has extensive experience in providing assessments, counseling, advocacy, case management, and coordination to youth and families impacted by physical and sexual violence, neglect, substance abuse and mental health concerns.

Kelemen previously served as director of the Partners in Parenting and Children’s Mental Health programs at New Directions Youth and Family Services, where she was responsible for management and clinical supervision of community-based preventive programs serving at-risk children and their families.

She succeeds longtime Executive Director Ann Marie Tucker, who was recently named vice president, foundation and community relations at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

The Child Advocacy Center of Niagara, a service of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, is a countywide resource providing a place for multi-disciplinary teams to investigate allegations of child abuse in a child-friendly environment.
