Memorial names Grandinetti chief information officer

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical has promoted Peggy Grandinetti to the newly created position of chief information officer.

In her new position, Ms. Grandinetti will be responsible for managing all PC and mainframe based computer systems, including the main data system and ancillary systems, throughout Niagara's Premier Health Network.  In addition, she will provide direction, planning and organizational oversight of the Management Information Systems department and staff.

A graduate of the State University of New York College at Buffalo with a bachelor of science degree in Information Systems Management, Ms. Grandinetti has 27 years of experience in the health care, public utility, and for-profit sectors as a programmer, information systems manager and independent consultant.

She has served as Memorial's director of information systems since June 2003.  Under her direction, the medical center has moved forward by several generations in its use of technology.  She also played a key role in Memorial becoming the first hospital in the Greater Niagara region to utilize the lifesaving REACH Stroke Telemedicine system.
