“The Intersection of Mental Health and Interpersonal Violence – Translating Research into Advocacy” will feature Catherine Cerulli, J.D., Ph.D, an associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Rochester and Suzanne Tomkins, J.D., a University of Buffalo Law School professor and co-director of the Program for Excellence in Family Law. The morning program will begin at 10 a.m. in the Memorial Medical Center Auditorium. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. One in four women is a victim of domestic violence and 15.5 million U.S. children live in families in which partner violence occurred at least once in the past year. The organizers of the event hope to spread awareness of this tragic and far-reaching issue in order to put an end to its painful effects.
