Area residents to rock for better health
Community leaders and elected officials will join members and friends of the Memorial Medical Center Auxiliary for a “rockin’ good time” April 18 when the Auxiliary holds its sixth annual Rock-A-Thon to benefit the hospital.
Participants will rock in chairs for half-hour increments with each rocker soliciting pledges, Chairwoman Jane Schroeder said. Proceeds will be used to purchase needed equipment for the medical center. The Auxiliary raised more than $7,000 at last year’s event. This year’s Rock-A-thon will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the upper lobby of the medical center. To participate or to sponsor a rocker, call 278-4159 or 282-3406.
