Ms. Tucker, a graduate of the University at Binghamton and the University at Buffalo School of Law, has been executive director of the Child Advocacy Center of Niagara, a service of Memorial Medical Center, since 1995. In that role, she created one of New York’s first hospital-based, nationally accredited child advocacy centers; assisted in the development of both local and national standards and performance criteria for children’s advocacy centers; and conducted accreditation reviews for new and existing child advocacy centers nationwide. In addition, her fundraising expertise played a key role in sustaining and growing the center and the services it offers. Since 2005, she also has been responsible for the Memorial Medical Center Foundation’s grant writing efforts. Her work in that area resulted in the Foundation successfully applying for government and private foundation grants for medical center programs that address coronary artery disease, behavioral health and other community healthcare needs. Ms. Tucker is the recipient of the 2009 Niagara Award in Health and Human Services from the YWCA of Niagara and was recognized by the National Children’s Alliance as a Hero for Children. In her new position, she will develop and execute strategies for philanthropic support for Memorial Medical Center, Schoellkopf Health Center and their affiliates; and provide management oversight for government relations, marketing, community relations and volunteer functions of all entities. |
