United Way honors Memorial educator

The United Way of Niagara has named Muriel Forte, RN, of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center its Outstanding Employee Coordinator for 2006-2007.

The award is given to an individual who has done an outstanding job of planning, implementing and coordinating the United Way’s annual campaign at his or her place of employment. Employee coordinators work with the agency’s loaned executives to schedule speakers and campaign special events.

Forte, an instructor in Memorial’s staff development office and a certified diabetes educator, is president of the medical center’s United Way Care Fund. The Care Fund held three fundraising during the recent United Way campaign that resulted in nearly $4,000 in new contributions.
